[TUT]How to change your weapon sounds Manually!
« on: March 06, 2015, 02:06:00 PM »
hey guys, i decided to make this tutorial because hazieq couldn't change his weapons sounds manually.
if you want to do it easily download weapon sounds from www.gtaall.com with automatic installation, but you can't import any sound you want using that way.

you might ask :
can i copy the Name.wav files Directly into Gta sa Directory?
No you can't you must use Alci's SAAT gui front end.

does it ruin my game ?
yes if you don't do the steps properly.

1. Download Alci's SAAT gui front end from here :
2. Extract the rar file into somewhere.
3. open the program using the saatguifrontend.exe

4. click the file option and select '' set working directory '' and Choose permanent place with a lot of free space, (to don't run out of space while working with program.) and Click ok.
like : E:\New folder , don't use the partition which Windows is installed in.

5. Click on file again and choose set gta directory this time, choose your main gta folder containing gtasa.exe and click ok.

6. now we click on GENERAL to see the general sounds, you'll see a lot of banks, scroll down and 2x click on bank 137 ( the weapon sound bank ).

i found all weapon sound ids ( bank 137 ) : ( click here for original website )
i fixed some of these sounds that were incorrect.
001-002: uzi/tec9
003: far explosion
004-005: ak47/m4
006:explosion/rocket
007-008: desert eagle
009: far shot
010: fire extinguisher
011: radio static (cop car)
012-017 minigun (rotation is 015/016)
018-019: mp5

027-028: sniper
029: spray can
030-034: reloading, popping, clicking
035-036: ??collision sounds??
037-038: punches
039: kicks
040-041: melee sounds (brass knuckles or bat?)
042-045: more melee attacks
046: taking photo
047: ??melee??
048: swing (punch, bat, katana, etc)
049: 'pock!'
050: Satchel armed
051-059: various popping and clanging
060: punching fence
061: breaking fence
062-063: slapping
064: unknown long sound
065: IR/NV Goggle activate

083: melee attack
084: flamethrower ignition
085-086: clicking
087: missed punch
088: missed shovel
089: missed knife

7. now click on any sound to hear it, to replace a sound, first choose your sound from the middle box then click on actions menu then select the replace option and choose the file you want to replace with.

if you downloaded a file which its name wasn't like the list above, change its name using the list above.

i'm replacing the deagle sound in the pics below:

i chose the replace option:

i chose my sound directory:

8. click the save button ( floppy disk ) to save your sounds and close the program.

This is soo stupid, modloader is way easier than this shit.

You make like this:

modloader/Sound mod/GENRL - Weapon sounds/bank_137/copy the sound mod there (sound_001.wav)

At least give an appreciation to that work.

I followed what dimi said in tutorial, and yeah that's it.

Things do not always work like how we want it to be, so be it.

What can I do if the sounds I downloaded aren't in .wav format? The files are like the originals, without format and named "FEET" and "GENRL". If I replace the files, the game crash before start to play.

*Do I need CLEO? I don't have it.

Maybe you can just convert them ?  :-X

Also, you can just download GENRL files from the web (I do that when I'm too lazy)

( you may download this https://www.gtainside.com/en/download.php?do=detail&cat=437&id=72898 )
the file above has 2 folders named sfx and config, open them and do these:
copy and replace the genrl.file and feet.file in this directory Gta san andreas > audio > sfx
copy and paste all other remaining files in the gta main directory ( weaponlimit.asi etc...)( you need an asi loader, cleo can load too, or any other asi loader to load these.*download from cleo.li*
copy and replace the files inside config folder in this directory gta san andreas > audio > config.
I've tested it, and it works fine.
and PoseidoN you don't need to convert them mate :P.
you may download the file(s) above or use your own file(s), This tut which i wrote right now , is for NON-wav files, GENRL, FEET,PAIN_A,etc...
its less complex than the older one,  you can mix a lot of weapon sounds together using that older tut, pretty complex but worths the time, cuz i sometimes notice awful sounds in some sound packs and i change them using Alci's saat tool.
GENRL.file contains a lot of banks, and inside the banks you can see the wave files.
Don't put GENRL.file and example.wav together, in the same folder.
